At least in DL, there is dwarven mages. The most degenerage of the dwarves
(I can't find my book to look this up) had savants who were spellcasters.
This is from the Dwarves boxed set for Krynn. They didn't really have ANY
rules on it, not even things like level limits and multiclass options, and
they were really meant for NPC's. This could be very interesting if the
party was going into a evil Dwarven citadel and found all of a sudden these
dwarves could cast spells. If I were going to have dwarven mages, I would
make them from a different sphere or after some magical calamity, and
probably remove their magic resistance.
