Subject: Re: Voidjamming
I use an idea from Dragon #159, voidjamming, but I've updated it for
Spelljamming and Planescape. Metal on the Astral plane becomes imbued
with psionic energy. This metal is mined and worked into wire which is
laced througout a ship. The pilot on a voidjamming ship is a
psionicist who must be a telekinetic or psychoportationist. To enter
Astral Space (an equivalent of hyperspace in my campaign), the ship must
reach SJ speed, then open a portal to the plane (with spell or magic
device). To reenter the prime, a carefullly updated map of color pools
must be kept.
The booklet Astral Space and the Article Voidjammer's in Dragon #159 are
invaluable to use Astral space as a form of hyperspace. (this is
important I discovered to keep your heroes from dying of old age in
between adventures especially for those campaigns that don't take place
in a single sphere.)

I also have two planars on my crew including a tiefling. We also have
a fallen Angel as a villain, and went plane hopping when Loki attempted
to start Ragnarok early....

The two settings mesh very well, and i would like to see TSR redo
Spelljammer, and give it an attitude a la Planescape.
