Isn't > this a little powerful for a first level spell? I checked the spell out over the weekend and found this out. The mending spell, according to the PHB, mends 1 cubic foot per level of the caster. The appropriate book in the Spelljammer box set states that 1 hull point is restored for every 10 cubic feet mended. So, you would need at least a 10th-level mage to restore at least 1 hull point per casting. The same mage could restore a maximum of 5 hull points per day, if he were to memorize Mending for all his 1st-level spells. Hope this helps. Patrick Stutzman The year is 1997.
