  There's a major flaw in this tactic. Even if the elves did come up
with an ultimate helm and secured an elven captain, the Spelljammer
would resent having to kill others needlessly. Remember, the Spelljammer
is a pro-life creature, and would eventually override and remove a
captain who uses it as a tool of destruction. The Spelljammer always
questions the use of its "stinger of annihilation" weapon, and won't
willingly travel too close to the sun.
