Well, as I mentioned before, it seems that ships have an exhaust.
There is no info on how long it lasts, or how far away it's detectable,
but I'm sure we can come up with something... (: I was thinking of
treating it like a wake in water, making it visible from far away. All
sorts of simple magic items (based on Detect Magic) could be made to
trace and hide a spelljammer's wake. With the addition of slightly variable
spelljamming speed (say +x% [2-3] per point of SR, but the pilot gets
tired in only 4 hours), chases become feasible.

	Comments?

Make it look harmless, like a rock. What does the mine do anyway?
It needs to have big detection and damaging radii, otherwise it's useless.

"Spore fields" were also presented somewhere, I think Lost Ships.
I think they were Gas Spore spores, and infected the air, or something.

Tucker's Kobolds were mentioned in the editorial of Dragon #127.
["How does he know that of the top of his head," you ask? It was the very
first issue of Dragon I bought, though I'd been playing for years by then.]
In it, a high-level party get massacered by a bunch of cunning kobolds.
Great stuff, if you ask me... (:

	Hope that helps some...
