	They *could* join an alliance, but why *would* they?  Has the
Vodoni Empire harmed them at all?  Why should they send out their ships
to die just because some elves want a bit of help?

	These are all very small scale tactics.  I think the alliance should
just find a way of putting out their sun.  Or how about selling the sphere
to some outer planar creatures?  Or destroying the connecting phlogiston
rivers?  Heck, if the arcane can destroy a sphere (or two), why can't the
we?
