Remember that you don't need to leave the ship to float on the gravity plane.
 I admit, most ships are configured so that one of the gravity plane runs
through one of the decks... but not all.  Anyway you could cut out a section
of a deck if you realy wanted to try it and your Captain didn't mind.
I cant belive I'm talking about this.
