Subject: Re: Neogi Cap ship reply (from the creator)
I reply to a reply:

Platoon Mercenary Slaves

How in the world did they *capture* that many giff? I thought
giff had that whole "Victory or Death!" thing.

Reply: Umberhulk confuse gaze plus neogi ingenuity with magic, and don't
forget even torture works on giff, if you do it right.

Liason Officer

What?!?! (: A 650 ton warship is used to destroy people, and
does it very well. Do they *need* a "liason officer"? And an illithid
of all things. Unless there is a good reason for it, I wouldn't allow
a non-food illithid. After all, a mind flayer can mess up a crew pretty
badly.

Reply: Illithids are the only race that will deal with neogi directly,
and it only stands to reason that both races would have "ambassadors"
aboard major ships (especially conquest ships) to see that their
interests are not compromised. Besides, when dealing in slave trade,
it's nice to have an up close look at what you're buying, before you buy
it.

>The Great Old Master is perhaps the most feared ship of all Wildspace,

Doesn't Gamaro Base hold that honor? (:

Reply: What is Gamaro Base?

>Built for the sole
>purpose of conquest across the known crystal spheres, this ship is the
>greatest of the neogi's perverted technology.

Which is why they wouldn't have a mind flayer. Or at least, if
*I* was a neogi, I wouldn't let an illithid near me.

Reply: See above.

Are umberhulks intelligent enough to "lead"? And if they are,
then what are they doing listening to the orders of little armless
(possibly tasty) speedbumps?

Reply: Sure they're smart enough, Average Intelligence (8-10). And do
you have any clue of the relationship between neogi and umberhulks, if
not, I suggest you ask someone.

>Standard Armament:

Or how about a grappling or claw(?) ram? That way thay can latch
on to ships and attack.

Reply: I like the piercing ram, because I didn't want the ships to bee
*that* powerful. Besides, the crystal eyes hold ships lnog enough for an
attack anyway.

Thirty five feet long but is 22 tons?

Reply: Yes.

What about using both eyes on the same ship? Or what size area
does it affect if you use them on an army on the ground? I assume that
the confusion doesn't affect the whole planet. (Though that would
explain
my state of mind today... (: )

Reply: Max space affected per eye is 50 cubic feet. That is tripled if
both eyes focus on the same target. Note-those not able to see the gaze
(ex. a crewman using the head, with no portholes in the room and the door
locked, while the ship is attacked) are unaffected by it, but the moment
they do see the gaze, they are affected.
