Re: Illithid PCs!!!

        One word of caution for using an illithid PC.  An illithid PC could
cause game imballance if not handled correctly.  I wouldn't let a beginning
PC ("Munchkin") play an Illithid, for example.  But an advanced player who
wants a real role-playing challenge would certainly enjoy playing an
illithid.  Another possible use would to run a campaign where all the
players are illithids!
        The Astromundi Cluster would be a good place for an Illithid
campaign, set during any one of the various Illithid/Antilian wars, or using
a single Nautaloid to explore the fringe worlds of the cluster and dealing
with the adversaries to be had there.
        BTW, do the Illithids have a small (10-15 ton) ship that can be used
as a deep range scout?  I could see them using a modified Damselfly for such
use.
