I wouldn't say MC doesn't matter as much as speed, the equation is a bit
more complicated then that (the Zero, for instance was more maneuverable
than our early fighters, but not appreciably faster, especially in a
dive). The WW I biplane would have a good shot at hitting the F-14, but
his weaponry would be completely ineffective (the F-14's missiles would be
equally ineffective and unable to hit, but his 20mm cannon would only need
one or two hits to take the Biplane down). The F-14 would have to fire,
consistently, from a frontal arc, because the biplane would be able to
always turn inside him. So each pass between the two would be head to
head. However, I agree that the speed of SJ vessels puts a serious damper
on non-SJ objects/creatures intercepting them. because I wanted to insure
that SJ wouldn't have logicilly upset the balance of power in my Realms
campaign, I changed SJ speeds within in air envelope to 12" per SR point.
Moving faster is possible, but the ship might rip apart (construction
techniques not being up to the speeds SJ helms can reach) This makes
things a bit more equal (an SR 3 ship has a move of 36" which is equal to a
Hippogriff and slower than a Pegasus). All IMHO, of course:)

us. What difference does it make by what pains each seeks the truth? We
can not attain to so great a secret by one road..."

Victory from the Senate House" (392 AD)
