But glass is *hard* to make. It's not *just* melted sand. Sand
has lots of impurities, and a glass bowl created by a desert fireball would
be very fragile. [That whole thing when He-Man (in the cartoon) rubbed sand
until it turned into glass would have *never* worked... (:] Purifying glass
takes equipment, though some spells can cover that. Shaping glass takes
equipment, but spells can sometimes do. Actually putting the ship together
would be a pain. A 200' keel (weighing *a lot*) is hard to handle, let
alone enchant.
This is fantasy, so anything's possible. I just find it wierd that
there's 16th level mages running around who are actually interested in
building something like that... (: It's all campaign dependent anyway.
