The movie is called "White Dwarf" and it is one of those made-for-TV
deals.  It is a SF film that basically details the story of an aspiring
doctor and his internship on a alien, back water planet called Rusta.
The planet's mood has sort of a fantasy-mystic feel that I think could
be transferred to SJ rather easily, and with desirable results.

The tissue gloves that were mentioned looked like a pair of latex gloves,
until the doctor put them on.  They jumped on to his hands themselves.
When used by the doctor native to the planet they allowed him to reach
_into_ a patient's chest cavity to remove a large and nasty parasite.  I
believe the creature was called a God's Head.

Anyway, the movie was shown on the Fox Network, and I don't think it is
available on video cassette.
