Yes, it is true. Apparently they made a deal with the Tanari'i several
thousand years ago to sell them the Astromundi sphere "for a to be named
price" at a latter date. The Arcane are doing this without the knowledge
of the inhabitants. Though it is very difficult to exit the sphere now,
at one time the place was a "crossroads of the planes". All planar
related spells and whatnot operated at a greater effeciency (ie. greater
range, duration, power, but only one effect per use). I was lucky to be
able to get a hold of the box. From what I read, it would be a great
place for a campaign. To say there are lots of subplots is an understatement.
