That's too bad. Exactly what was the method that they used to combat them. When I
planned to use them, as they are self-replicating, I was going to have them adapt to the
highly successful tactics of the PC's, each time rebuilding themselves with a heightened
resistance to the previous weakness,  until they wiped out the Adamantite horror. And
did you ever bring in any mention of the so-called 'Lost Ones' that created them? How
about any of their other devices. Now there is an interesting twist. The CH's after
obliterating their creators, making use of all their other clockwork devices...
