Greetings,
Now that the list is a bit cooler, I'd like to bring up a new
topic. (:
I was flipping through the second Spelljammer Compendium (MC9),
when I found something very interesting. There's a creature there, who's
name I completely forgot, which is created from the "exhaust" of a
spelljamming ship. "Exaust?" I thought. "Why didn't I notice that
before?" The description says that "matter and magic can neither be
created, nor destroyed", and the "exhaust" given off by a ship can be
traced with /detect magic/!!!! This points us in the direction of finding
the answer to the eternal question: If space is so damn big, how does
anybody actually *find* anybody else?
Obviously, spelljamming speed is going to have to be a bit variable,
so that a "fast" ship can catch up to a "slow" ship, but I'm working on
that... (Guess what all of those sails are for?) We can now have
chases, and searches, and all sorts of neato stuff. There will be a new
proficiency (detect age/direction/helm type by studying exhaust), new
spells (hide/alter/fake exhaust), new magic items (possibly glasses
of vapor [exhaust] viewing), etc....
Any thoughts?
