Not at all. I simply cut Krynn off. All the events outlined in the
Chronicles and Legends occured. And they occured without outside
interference. No one could come or go through the Godshield. I simply
chose not to implement the events in DoSF.
IMHO, the world of Krynn does not mesh well with the Spelljammer
setting. The idea of a Spelljammer dry dock in Palanthus, or Elven ships
landing in Silvanesti is not believable to me, in light of what is
presented in the novels. In turn, the same happening on Toril or Oerth is
easier to swallow.
I am not big on the idea of Krynn as an RPG world. I liked it in
H&W's works, but have never really been into playing it. But I like some
of the elements of it mixing into the SJ setting, such as gnomes,
minotaurs, irda, draconians, and such. So, by putting up this Godshield I
manage to maintain the feel and tone of Krynn while still having it
influence space.
Let's face it, if it was that easy to travel away from Krynn, the
portal to the Abyss wouldn't have been nearly as impressive.

I have since modified the arrangement to my liking. I have a map that
shows placement of the currently known spheres. I don't recall how
different is it from the current arrangement; I would have to look.
Krynnspace is still there, though. Since I wasn't particularly impressed
with the Krynnspace supplement it doesn't play a big part in my "scheme of
things". Realmspace is the hub, which is where I placed Bral.
