Are you striving for realism, in the sense of preserving the actual
makeup of the solar system? Because if you are, Saturn is more like
Jupiter than like Earth. It's primarily made up of hydrogen and helium.
If you're going to say that Jupiter in your sphere is an air world, then
Saturn should be as well. Besides, in spelljamming terms a planet of that
size would have an immense size value. In my games, I like to give the
illusion of gravity, to ease the players minds into accepting the more
wild physics of spelljamming. And a land planet of Saturn's size would
have several times Oerth-normal G.
And in response to an earlier question, I pretty much disregard the last
spelljammer novel as not having happened at all, or not having happened
yet. Because I bought the Legend of the Spelljammer boxed set ages ago,
and I didn't appreciate that all of the major characters got waxed. So
much for that set. Thus, I never read it, don't know about it, and as far
as I am concerned, it hasn't happened.
