And the Monsterous Manual, which came out slighty later describes them as
having both magically endowed and psionically endowed members, but one
doesn't have the other. Besides, the listings in the back of the psi book add
psionics to several critters, they don't replace the critters' existing
abilities.

Although, it *does* specify in the Psi book that psionics can *not* power a
spelljamming helm. It doesn't say "minor", "major, "series", etc, just
"spelljamming helm".
