To preserve game balance,  if a psionic helm were invented I'd make its
motive power equivalent to Major or Minor helm with SR based on the users
level.  I'd have all PSPs drained by contact with the helm and unregainable
until the psionicist was off the helm.  I think I'd treat all wild talents
as 1st level psionicists. I'm certain no TSR source has addressed this.
You might try Static,  I recall a PC in his fiction considering how to
invent a psionic helm.

Since the iambic helm operates of the creative force of music I think Bards
(or,  for that matter Rangers and Paladins of spellcasting level) could use
standard major or minor helms; just my interpretation of course.

I always thought the series helms were for the magic-using illithids (there
are two versions I believe)  I wouldn't allow a psionicist to use it.
