If you've seen the movie The Guyver, or it's sequel, or the original Japanese cartoon (in many video stores in the US) you've a pretty good idea. They, like the Spirit Warriors, and Insectare were biologic weapons created by the elves during the first Unhuman war. The Insectare were a failure (alignment problems) the Spirit Warriors a success (giant, undead, insect exoskeletons worn by elves), and the bionoids some where between (symbiot-forced alignment of NG, but minds of their own, and self replicating, the old fashioned way, as well as with blank symbiots).
