I can't comment on the Manual of the Planes as I haven't seen it, but I do find the style and additude of Planescape much more interesting than the standard AD&D worlds. IMHO, Spelljammer, while very cool, wasn't that much different in style and tone from the "groundling" settings. Check out the factions in Planescape and compare them with the organisations described in Spelljammer, and you will see what Spelljammer could have been. Truls Rostrup
