Subject: Re: Exploding Cannonballs

The other day a friend of mine and I were discussing the damage of
bombards when he msaid that he felt is was too low, considering the
explosion and all. This caught me off guard. Explosion? A cannonball?
He went on to tell me how it worked, as far as he knew (he's not an
expert on the subject.)
An then, a day or so later I was killing some cells on the tube when
I saw a commercial for the upcoming movie Cutthroat Island, complete with
exploding cannonballs. Of course, this is a movie, but it's unlikely
they took such a huge step in creative liscense. So, it seems they had
exploding cannonballs in the past.
This had me rushing to my SJ collection. I had always presumed that
bombard shot was simply a high speed solid projectile. And, search as I
may, I could find no evidence to the contrary.
Does anyone know if any of the SJ books indicate that bombard shot
explodes? Has anyone changed it so they do?
