I once ran the adventure in the module that has all the short adventures. I believe it was Skull and Crossbows. The scenario was that mantis warriors were headed for the Rock of Bral. We had an opportunity to convince them not to attack, but failed diplomatically. So, it was maybe two or three leaf ships (these, as I recall, were similar to hammerships). The leaf ships each had two or four "pods", which were tiny ships that launched from the main ship. Our ship was a modified scorpion. The Rock of Bral sent several ships, maybe four or five. We also had a rainbow dragon on board. We didn't know this, and it was polymorphed and in hiding. When battle began, it for some reason came out, and we had to fight the dragon as well. Quite a battle. The module Dark Fist also had a huge space battle when you attack the main planet. You are in a gigantic war, and I recall the section of the war that we were in having at least 8 vessels. I like massive war battles. The Rock of Bral fight was similar to playing one of the strategy board games, where the party had control of our ship and the Bral ships, and could use the different ship characteristics to form a strategic defense or attack formation. It takes a long time (I think the Bral fight took about 10 hours), but I enjoy this much more to using the War Captains shortcuts. |-Teos Abadia---http://www.duke.edu/~tsa1/page1.html---tsa1@?????.????.edu-| | If our economy was as energy efficient as that of Sweeden or Japan, we | | would have been spending $200 billion a year less in energy during the | | past decade.
