By "this system" I mean the system notes I posted to the list
earlier, not the WCC system.
To reiterate a my primary point...

The system for ship creation in the War Capatin's Companion is, IMHO,
flawed when taken in the contexts put forward by the original Spelljammer
boxed set (SJBS). Many of the figures from WCC are based on the mass
(weight) of a ship, where the SJBS ignores weight. An SJ ton is a unit of
volume (displacement), not weight. For example, a minor helm could move a
50 ton hunk of solid gold just as easily as a 50 ton balsa wood ship.
This is what my system is designed to reflect. So, when you strip a
ship, it removes weight, but not volume. So, it does nothing for the MR.
But it would reduce the AR. This is what I mean when I say that it does
nothing good for a ship.
