Unless, of course the ability simply taps into a planets Magnetic field and
reads that. A not unreasonable assumption, IMO.

It's basically a Speak with Dead type ability. No Astral connection to the
ottuer planes makes it hard to use.

It allows a change of upto 10mph. No reason that couldn't be an increase
of from 0 to 10.

The description is clear. You CAN'T use it on parts, just the whole.

Why? The ability is quite clear: food, water, sleep. If it let you get more
from you're air suppl, I think it would have mentioned it in reference to
holding your breath or the like.

BTW, the cell adjustment problem was addressed earlier. Apparently it
was a typo on the original poster's part, he meant elven. And xixchil and
Reigar use living ships as well. Plant and animal respectively.
