Question re races from SW:RotJ

Attention all Star Wars fans:

I was watching "Return of the Jedi" the other day, and I noticed that some
of the races in Jabba's entourage look a lot like some of the SJ races (or
more likely, vice-versa).  I'm curious as to what these races are called (in
the SW universe)

1). One of them looks very much like an Illithid.  I don't know if it eats
brain juices or not, but it looks like an illithid.

2). Then there is the giff-like creature that was eaten by the Rancor
shortly after Luke was tossed into the pit.  Except for the two rather large
canine teeth protruding from the lower jaw, that creature reminded me of a giff.

If anyone knows the names of either of these two critters (race name, not
personal name) please let me know.  I'm sorta collecting spacefaring races.  :)
