Another suggestion could be using normal air, but casting a spell on it that
lightens it. That way, you could also use it as an air supply. (This is
fiction so the air could be lightened). One problem is that a ballista bolt,
jettison, catapult or any other weapon puncturing the air bag would render
the ship stranded.
