Lighter than air ships...

A while ago I brought up the idea of using a huge balloon for the purpose of
transp[?[Dorting large quantities of air, perhaps for a convoy.
Imagine a small Air Elemental pocket contained within the dirigiblee in
a region of the Air plane which had lighter than normal air.  An Elemental
helm, perhaps using a Ring of Elemental Command, and a Staff of the Elements
to help bind elementals.

Perhaps an elemental Helm is similar to a Life powered helm, and so the helm
can only be used by a master of Elementals, or an Arabian Djinni lord.
With elementals as a safe heat source, a hot air balloon is quite possible.

I like the idea of a Giff marine detachement.  And dozens of small biplane and triplane
intercepters on board. :+)

Openning a large enough portal for such a huge ship could be a challenege
