 Sounds okay to me, but the portable hole idea is probably much more
 easier/effective. I doubt the Arcane would want to burn magic items
 to get the furnace to their customer; this would REALLY raise the price of
 the furnace. Besides, there might be furnaces with "cold" flames out there.
 Who knows..? :)
