Subject: Re: Net book request
Could someone please send me the spelljammer net book mentioned
in a recent post?

I had requested information on strategies for dealing with ship-to-ship
combat when you are outnumbered and out gunned. I got some good info in
response, much of it ended in ". . .then you board 'em!"

I recently had the opportunity to take some of this advice. We were attacked
by two tradesmen flown by halflings. We have a beefed-up squid ship, so
it wasn't very smart of them, but they wanted our passenger. We also have
a locust. My character and a couple of others loaded into the locust, and
while our heavy weapons tore apart one ship, the locust dropped my Kensai
off on the other. *Extend Fear* works great on a ship of first level
halflings. Their morale was bad from seeing the other ship get trashed,
and the fear broke it so they surrendered. One ship destroyed, one
captured with no damage.

This same tactic would probably not work very well with a boatload of
illithids, though. So, my qestion is: What are your rules of thumb for
the using the tactics listed below? When and why do you do it? When and
why do you avoid doing it?

Tactics:

Boarding
Ramming
Grapple-Ramming
Shearing
Other (feel free to add any and all favorites)
