Re: Kender is space.

Going back to the Kender for a moment, recall that a Kender appears in the
Cloakmaster Cycle. This little chatterbox, named Galidriel Goldring, actually
proved to be a worthwhile companion (i.e. she saved Telden's ass on three
seperate occasions). Granted, Gaye may be an atypical Kender (she was able to
stay focused enough long enough to become a respectible psionicist), but I'm
sure the little guys could prove useful.

I can easliy picture Dowhor merchants hiring Kender crewmembers, especially
if they (the Dowhor) plan to visit a major space port. Since Kender have a nack
of locating "loose" equipment, and tend to hear things that most other people
would overlook, they could easily come across rare items or information that
could be useful to the resourceful merchant. Imagine a pack of Kender who
work for a spy ring...

My point: if it can be found, eventually a Kender will find it.

If Kender were to take to space themselves, they would probably end up hiring
a spellcaster from another race, because as some have pointed out, it would be
very difficult to keep a Kender focused while using a conventional help. They
would probably use the smaller human ships, such as a Tradesman, and perhaps
some of the more conservative gnome designs, like Whelks.

Sidewheelers might capture their attention for a time, but the constant bells
and whistles might be a bit much even for them.
