Subject: Re: BBS's (was FTP site)
Hi folks.

With the recent talk about FTP and WWW sites, I was thinking that it would be
a good idea if those of us who use BBS's to spread the word about BBS's that
handle role-playing games. I know that "Rhyme" has found it's way on to some
of them in the Washington DC area, and some others in the Detroit area. I'm
sure there are others.

If you know of a good BBS which handles role playing material, especially
materials that appeal to Spelljammer and other "fantasy space" games like
Jorune, I would encourage you to tell this list about it. Since the FTP
business has been rather risky of late (thanks to the demons of Lake Geneva),
and access to the WWW is still limited in some areas, information about
alternative sources for materials would be a nice thing to have around. In
fact, having several alternative distribution methods is good practice
anyway. Naturally, what can be carried on a BBS is up to the local sysop, so
we shouldn't start imposing on other people's file areas, but I've found most
sysops to be quite accomidating, so long as local rules are observed.

For starters, here are some that I know of, all in the USA (I haven't
explored BBS's in Canada yet, and I can't afford to call Europe very often).
I have not yet connected to all of these, so I can't vouch for content.
