Here is another re-post from the past; perhaps it too can be used in the
upcoming net.book.

==================================
Bounce Bomb

The bounce bomb is mounted under the spelljammer, in some kind of launch
apperartis. (Somewhat like a catapult).

To use the weapon the jammer move towards the target as if to ram, but above
the level of the gravity plane, once it is within range of the air envelope
the bombs are ejectred towards the targets gravity plane. Once the bombs
enter the air envelope, they would occilate through the gravity plane until
they hit the target (or miss in which case they procede off into the
distance).

Once the bombs are launched the jammer would pull up, and go over the target,
(go verticle and jettison?), or if the ship is of an appropriate type perform
a shearing attack.

The contents of the bombs could be greek fire with an ignition device,
smokepowder also with an ignition device, or once of the substances that are
used in mage shot. (? I think thats what its called.)

The best craft for this type of weapon would probably be a small extremly
manouverable craft using it against a larger less manouverable craft. For
such a ship, if the movement system would allow it to pull up safely after
hitting the air envelope, the launcher for the bombs would only have to push
the bomb out of the gravity of the ship. This would allow a very simple,
small launcher, which could be mounted on something not much bigger than an
elven flitter. Though they would only get one or two shots before they would
have to reload. And if they happen to get hit in the bomb bay before they
drop them, it could be rather painfull.

Ships that carry large quantities of these explosive sometimes have their
underside armored as a precaution.
