I don't see why light can't be the fastest nonmagical speed.
Sounds good to me.  It also doesn't bother me that the spheres
are light years apart - it certainly would make it easier for
other spheres to survive if (horrors!) a sphere should explode
or something like that.  Make them things _faaaar_ away.  In
any case, the party probably wouldn't know how far it was, since
it's kinda hard to measure distances in a changing landmarkless
liquid media.  :?)

Oh, and Rich - I have a Commodore 64 - if you could somehow port
it over to that ("GO 64" - what a cool command!)....
