Hiya, note from a lurker here:

Assuming an initial population of 10,000 MF.
Assuming that 30% of all born children survive.
Assuming that 80% of all MF have 2 children.
(the rest die at the hands of adventurers and other races).

10,000 MF x 80% x 2 = 16,000 children
16,000 children x 30% = 4,800 MF

In order for the population to remain at a stable 10,000 MF, the child to
adult survival rate must be 62.5% or greater.

10,000 MF x 80% x 2 = 16,000 children
16,000 children x 62.5% = 10,000 MF

Ya just gotta love algebra ;)

Thomas
