RE: An "Indian Sphere." Name: Ravenspace? (At the risk of being politically incorrect) One thing that is common among most primative peoples, like Indians, is a closeness to nature and the earth. In light of this, an interesting choice for an Indian sphere would be a small Dyson sphere, like Heardspace (see Malestrom's eye). Dyson spheres tend to be complete and complex, if very large, ecosystems. (Planets tend to be somewhat smaller, though no less complex.) The notion of living on a world that is physically connected with the rest of the universe, and not just a point in an open pocket, would fit in well with their spiritual traditions. In this set-up, groups could develop into highly advanced civilizations, while having very little contact with one another. Dyson Spheres, even small ones, are BIG. If spelljamming was available, there might be groups that spend all of their lives wandering through the skys of the sphere, much like certain native people do on boats in the Amazon jungles. I am currently having a vision of an Inca-style civilization with spelljammers that look like Coutals, or perhaps variations of dragonships. Variations of the Shrike-ship - a bird - would be a popular design, especially among those who hail from mountainous regions. Just some thoughts.
